Deshka 6-25 pm

I fished a early afternoon group starting at 11:00 due to the early am trip.  I fished with 3 young boys and their father.  The 6 year old hung a 24 pound fish on the first drift.  It was an epic battle, with the 52 pound boy winning. The second fish was a 22 pounder caught by Dad about 6 minutes later,  The third and fourth fish were about 15 pounds and 11pounds each caught over the next 50 minutes.  The morning and afternoon trips today were lots of fun for everyone involved including the guide!

Deshka 6-25 am

I fished the Deshka with two guests today.  The water level was good and the fish were moving.  We caught one king salmon, 18 pounds, on the first drift.  We had it in the boat at 6:04.  We hooked another fish 10 minutes later but had to wait until 7:05 to hook and land the second fish. There are lots of eagles and shore birds on the river and a report of a brown bear two days ago.

Deshka 6-24 am

I fished with four guests today, we hooked 5 king salmon on salmon eggs, spinners and plugs.  We only managed to land one of the fish a 17 pounder in good condition.  The Deshka is very busy and the number of fish below the weir is getting smaller daily.  Lots of birds today, no moose or bears.

Deshka 6-22 am

I visited with another guide, he had a group of three and boated three Deshka kings by noon today.  The fishing continues to slow and the water temps are still very warm.

Deshka 6-21 pm

I fished with a family of four today, we landed three king salmon 19, 20 and 12 pounds.  We had a few other bites but the fishing was very slow when the sun was out. We saw lots of eagles, shore birds and a beaver.

Deshka 6-21 am

I fished a group of two today, we caught two king salmon.  One client choose to release a 7 pound fish and did not land another fish.

Deshka 6-20pm

I fished with a group of four in the afternoon.  We caught 4 king salmon on eggs.  Three were 17-22 pounds and the other was a 5 pound fish. Fishing was tough as the sun slowed the bite down.
